Now we are in David (pronounced the Spanish way...Dah-veed), a city in the interior, population about 100,000. The bus ride from Panama City is a testimony to patience. Took 9 hours and 15 minutes. About 3 hours into the trip we heard a loud 'bang' and we groaned. Both of us suspected a blown tire, especially since the bus slowed down. The highway bus was vintage, about 30-40 years old (a North American reject).
About half a dozen gringos were on board and an equal number of children, from a nursing infant to a young boy about eight. The children were golden. The Panamanians just accepted the delay. Guess they are used to it.
So welcome to Dah-veed. Follow us as we explore, discover and research Panama for my new novel from a home base here.
